Monster Striper

“I bought my NuCanoe 12 from West Creek Kayak (great people) in September. It has been awesome getting out in our local lakes with my two daughters, but what I really was itching to do is get out in the back bays. Before today I had been in the back twice mostly shaking the vessel down and seeing what works as far as gear. I went out last night before midnight and fished until 8 this morning. As the sun broke the horizon my reel began singing and set the hook on this 40” striped bass. Wow – what a fight!
“I am enclosing a few pictures including the NuCanoe with some of my customization including crate, rod holders, light, video camera pole, etc… I have a bad back and have been more than pleased with the NuCanoe’s comfort and ease of use. I fished 8 hours straight today and was more than comfortable the entire time. I am saving up for a fishfinder and can’t wait to fish the back for fluke next summer.
“Thanks NuCanoe!”

Flawless Performance
“My friends and I took our first fishing trip with our recently purchased NuCanoes. We were on the Hiwassee River in Tennessee. On the water for about 9 miles catching numerous Rainbow Trout. The picture I’m sending is of three of my friends. Two were helping the third empty his canoe of water. He didn’t buy a NuCanoe like we did. He wishes he did. The NuCanoes performed flawlessly. Thank you for a superior product.”
Sincerely,

Totally Convinced
“Hey Frank (Tar River Paddlesports),
Thanks for the demo! I was blown away by this little 12 foot “raft”. I don’t believe I have ever been in anything in my life that handles this good on the water. Within 2 minutes on the water I was totally convinced, not one hesitation went through my mind.”

Best for Fishing? NuCanoe or Kayak
With respect to comments on the Internet about the NuCanoe being too wide and heavy, my response is too wide and heavy for what? If you are a kayaker that goes on outings with other kayakers and you want to look like them and keep up with them on the water, then you should buy a kayak. If you are a fisherman who wants more of a boat than a kayak, go with the NuCanoe. Having fished from an Ocean Kayak Caper for 6 years, I couldn’t believe the advantages of a NuCanoe. It’s not a kayak or a canoe – it is by far the best small fishing boat that you can buy. I find it hard to believe that anyone that tests a regular S.O.T. kayak and then a NuCanoe would ever select a kayak over a NuCanoe for fishing.

Two Years of Research Leads to a NuCanoe
After 2 years of research, beginning with the NuCanoe as my starting point, I finally ended up going with my first choice. I have two sons age 12 and 6. My 12 year old was very skittish in a canoe, afraid of tipping over. I personally didn’t like the way a canoe handled. I tried a 1 person sit-in kayak, loved it, but wanted to spend time with my sons. I was mostly interested in fishing and spending time out on water. I went to a local dealer (KC Paddler), ordered the NuCanoe 12, and outfitted it for fishing.

I took it out for first time yesterday with my 12 year old. I would recommend the Transport Cart for ease of transition from truck to water. One 270cm paddle was enough, my son didn’t need one. I have the swivel seats on order and will be glad to get them as I was happy to find out its not very comfortable without a back to your seat. Also found I will need a small anchor.
We could fit into spots that other boats could not where the fishing was great. My son was very comfortable and not afraid at all of tipping over as it is very stable. The NuCanoe was able to be out in the lake where the water was choppy without a problem – no fear of tipping. I’m also happy that I can purchase accessories as needed to customize it into what I really want and need.
My son caught his first white bass and the look on his face made all my purchase worth it. I feel as though I have really educated myself these past 2 years with the research online, personal experiences, and talking to professionals and I’m glad I made my choice to purchase the NuCanoe.

…So obviously I am a very happy NuCanoe owner
The reason I write to you is to let you know that with my NuCanoe, I am enjoying fishing and “water time” more than I ever have before.
Our last boat was a large aluminum boat. Beautiful boat, but lots and lots of details and maintenance. There was the boat, the trailer, the outboards, the batteries, the cleaning, the storage unit, etc. There were times when the thought of all this work actually kept me from using it – this, a boat that cost us $35,000.
But now I have a NuCanoe. The NuCanoe is simple, tidy, and organized. It looks good, and it’s a breeze to maintain. All I have to do is wipe it down with a damp towel and it’s good to go. And the boat trailer… WHAT boat trailer? I can load the NuCanoe into the back of my pickup truck and secure it with just a couple tie down straps. Does it get any easier than this? I don’t think so.
The Captain’s seats are comfortable (although maybe not the best choice for fishing), the paddle holders work great, and the Sport Box is quite convenient. Personally, I think that the rod holders and the way they attach to the NuCanoe leave a lot to be desired, but that’s just my opinion. The holders seem flimsy and not the quality that I had envisioned. I’m working on some ideas/solutions for ways to attach nicer rod holders. I’m also working on a way to securely fit a milk crate in the NuCanoe as a fishing center. I haven’t used the anchor system yet, but it looks simple enough.
The only thing that I purchased separately was a Cannon Wave Carbon Fiber Paddle. I ordered it online last week – and someone in your office actually delivered it to my front door the next day. How this happened I don’t know, but talk about great customer service!
I’ve taken the NuCanoe out twice now – once two days ago up to Silver Lake Park with my 6 year old son, and again this morning to Fazon Lake by myself. Carrying the NuCanoe did not destroy my gas mileage like our other boat used to.
We had such a great time at Silver Lake. I paddled around the lake while sitting behind him, watching him absorb all the sights and smells of our adventure. We saw osprey, eagles, coyotes, deer, and he even caught the first fish on our NuCanoe. It was a really great “Dad moment”, and one that I won’t forget. My 4 year old daughter can’t wait to go next.
Fazon Lake this morning was fantastic. By myself, the only sound was my paddles entering and exiting the water. By myself, the NuCanoe moved and maneuvered so easily. As this was just my second time out, I am still in the learning curve for paddling, moving around in the NuCanoe, and (God forbid) standing. It is an intriguing thought, but I’m not so sure that it would be wise to stand up quite yet. I’ll let you know how that goes.
So obviously I am a very happy NuCanoe owner. I just wanted to let you know how great it has been for us already. I am looking forward to many more relaxing alone days and family adventure days in our NuCanoe.

Everyone needs to own at least one……
NuCanoe Dealer Frank Bandy at Tar River Paddlesports had a customer say…
“Thanks for all the help. I fished from the NuCanoe on Sunday and loved the way it
handled and floated. The weather was cold, but it was a pleasure to boat
in. The NuCanoe is a fantastic craft and everybody who loves water
needs to own at LEAST ONE of these boats!!!!!!

It is Rare……
“Just wanted to thank you for your quick response for a replacement seat screw, and to also thank you for the hat and decals. It is rare these days to find companies that value their customers and I truly appreciate the personal service.
I really enjoy my time in my NuCanoe, up to now, I have only used it on lakes, but I am looking forward to trying it out on some streams and rivers nearby. As you state, it is extremely stable, and I have no fears bringing me “good” camera equipment with me, I also have found that it tracks extremely well. All in all, I have found my NuCanoe to be everything and more than advertised, and I am completely satisfied with both it, your company and your customer service; and would gladly recommend a NuCanoe to anyone who asks. Looking forward to warmer weather and being out on the water again.”

I’ve caught fish over 20 inches……
After watching our new video, Dave Black wrote:
” I am glad I chose the NuCanoe, I had researched for more than a year before my decision. I am looking for a trailer now, it would be great not to have to lift it in and out of my truck. My next purchase will be the swivel seat, should be great when I bass fish, and even greater for fishing chironomids when anchored. Last year I caught fish over 20″ doing exactly this with the NuCanoe..”

Can go where other boats can’t go..
“The NuCanoe is extremely capable and goes where many boats cannot, like the Nisqually Mud Flats in Lacey, WA. At low tide, bigger boats are stuck and have to wait for high tide, otherwise the hunt ends early for them before the tide goes out. I just hang tight and continue to hunt. No matter what the tide, I’m able to move and recover birds and decoys. With the addition of a trolling motor, I can get to my destination very quickly. I’ve set up the hunting blind and hunted in the middle of a small lake where the ducks like to go by anchoring both ends; very successful. Bottom line, the best purchase I’ve made in a long time.”

Everything I expected….and more
“My 12′ NuCanoe is everything I expected it would be and more. I have been using it for paddling with my grandchildren and fishing solo and tandem. The flexibility and stability are amazing. At the age of 72, lifting the trailer on the car is not feasible so I purchased a Trailex SUT 250S Light Duty Trailer which makes the whole package effortless and enjoyable to use. Also, I purchased a custom made cover from Max Dahl at dahlcanvas.com as other aftermarket covers do not fit well and I am equally as pleased with the quality and workmanship. Last but not least, none of this would have happened had I not gone to Paddler’s Cove in Washington, NJ. John introduced me to your product. He is an asset to your dealership program as he is professional, very customer oriented, and is a pleasure to do business with. Thanks again for developing a great product.”

Fantastic for Bass Fishing
“Just bought the Tandem Adventurer….fantastic!! As a bass fisherman, this is better than any boat I have ever owned. I was wondering if you had promotional stickers. I would like to match up my truck with the boat with a couple of NuCanoe stickers. Do you have such things?”

Love My Fishing NuCanoes
“I’ve been a kayak fisherman for over five years, over which time my sit-on-top kayak has enables me to catch over two thousand bass. Over the last two years, I’ve spent countless hours searching the Internet for a new fishing kayak that would be much more comfortable for my 66 year old back.
I firmly believe that the NuCanoe is the most versatile fishing kayak available. In fact, I was so happy with my 10 foot model that I purchased a 12 model for those times when I want to fish with a friend. If you study the photos, you can see that I’ve equipped my modular multi-mount with a depth finder, transducer holder, battery, and GPS unit. I have rod holders behind my swivel seat for extra rods, plus a rod holder for storing the rod while I’m removing hooks from a fish, and a trolling rod holder. The threaded mounting holes are useful for more than the accessories available from NuCanoe. I mount a small tackle box or small plastic storage box at one point to keep my lures, plastics, hooks, etc., within easy reach. The useable space exceeds that in any other kayak. I’ve modified two canoe/kayak hoists to store both NuCanoes in my garage. I transport my NuCanoe to and from the small lakes and ponds that I fish in the rear of my Ford Ranger. The truck width is perfect.
If you have any questions on what, how, or why I equipped my NuCanoes as shown in the photos, please feel free to e-mail me at ziomekk@bellsouth.net. I may be able to save you some time and aggravation by explaining my approach to equipping my NuCanoes. I purchased both of my NuCanoes from Bryan Brown at Carolina Outdoors. I’m very happy and satisfied with my fishing NuCanoes.”

Well Designed Boat
“I’ve had my 12′ NuCanoe for 7 months now and have enjoyed every minute while fishing from it. It is a well designed boat that is reliable and fun. Job well done.”

Fantastic Comfort and Stability
“I bought a 12′ Tandem NuCanoe a few weeks ago and just took it out for the first time. Fantastic! My wife and I fished in great comfort – our old kayaks were wet and uncomfortable. We rented kayaks in Florida before making our decision. I tried Native Ultimate 14′ and found it uncomfortable to stand in and barge like to paddle, I tried Wilderness Tarpon, and would never attempt to stand in it, though it handled well. I paddled a NuCanoe up and down WikiWachi river (with the Manatees) – even stood up and paddled – and decided that would be the boat for me. ”
“If you fish from your NuCanoe and don’t have a swivel seat, you really need to look into one. They are fantastic.”
Great for the Family

“My husband saw these at the local boat store and knew he wanted one for himself. We were looking at getting a 16 ft canoe for recreational paddling for our family of five. After looking at those huge canoes and trying to figure out how to attach it to the roof of our 4-door truck we decided on two 12 ft NuCanoes and LOVE that both fit in the truck bed with room to spare! Have used them once so far, and love the fact that there are so many options, from being able to move the seats around, to the 2 of us being able to handle these boats quite easily. The adults and the kids all love our new boats and look forward to a summer of fishing, camping and touring all the bayous and creeks around Louisiana and Texas that we can!”

Best Christmas Present Ever
“My daughter bought a NuCanoe for me as a Christmas Present. What a shock it was to say the least. We have enjoyed Kayaking for several years and she thought it would be great to get me one of your boats. All I can tell you now is that I am sold. We actually took the 12′ boat out for a run on the 27th, as I wanted to get a new life jacket before I took it out.
I was very impressed by the handling and the easy in which we were able to handle the boat. It was indeed a very windy day, not to mention cold (about 34 degrees) The water was very choppy to say the least. We finally got to a little cove. One that I had only been able to see from a distance on an ATV for the last 30 years. This time we saw it from the water. It was unreal. We got a little brave in the coves as we had some relief from the wind and choppy water. We went shallow and were very please with the draw the boat took. When we should have been stuck it was very easy to “scoot” the boat over the sand bars.
This was with out a doubt one the best Christmas presents I have ever gotten!”

Excellent for Fishing on the Rivers
“I purchased a NuCanoe about a year ago. I am absolutely delighted with the handling of the NuCanoe as a fishing vessel. I mainly fish the rivers for Smallmouth here in central Illinois, I have caught many nice smallmouth in places that I would not have been able to wade and get to. Thank you for coming out with a nice… watercraft.”

Smallmouth Bass Fishing in a NuCanoe
Mark L. in Nashville, TN
“Just made my maiden voyage in my new NuCanoe down my very skinny water river; I LOVE IT! Even though I had to get out and drag the boat a few times it was so shallow I had a blast christening my new vessel. Any other craft would have to drag at least as many times most much more. Caught several smallmouth which made the trip that much better since that is the main reason I purchased the boat. Can’t say enough about this rig. What plans do you guys have for other designs soon? If they’re as well thought out as the adventurer I can’t wait.”
Good Times Catching Fish
Bruce & Camille, Arlington, WA
“I purchased on of your NuCanoe Adventurers last month and have been pleased with it. It has helped me catch a lot of fish and provided my wife and I a lot of enjoyment. If you would send me some of your cards I could probably help you sell some of your boats. I get asked frequently about it and where I purchased it.”
Catch More Fish in a NuCanoe

“I just purchased an Adventurer NuCanoe 2 weeks ago. I have already caught more fish from this kayak than I have the past 2 years from a bass boat. I love it.”
NuCanoes @ YMCA Camp Dudley
Matt Rusch, Yakima, WA
“We had a fantastic summer with our NuCanoes! Dudley serves a variety of ages from 5 – 18 and beyond, and most of our summer campers do not have much experience on the water. The NuCanoes dramatically cut down the amount of times our lifeguard needed to go out in the rescue boat. Before it was to retrieve swamped campers that had tipped the canoe, now it is only if they get carried away by the wind. The learning curve is much faster, and the boats are infinitely more forgiving. Beyond making a model that would have three seats, I can’t see one thing wrong with it. While it is a bit heavier than some of our traditional canoes, the added weight helps on our lake where we can get pretty heavy afternoon winds.
Thanks for a great addition to our camp! ”

“Truth be known, we have been waiting for years to have something like NuCanoe evolve. I don’t mean to sound melodramatic but I think you have a very unique product, that will likely be very successful in the marketplace. It will really benefit our program.”
Soccer Team Fun
Last weekend, I took 6 high school girls from my soccer team out on four NuCanoes. Our three hours on the lake was an enjoyable adventure. The fact that we did not have to be thinking about a possible capsize allowed us to have fun talking, laughing, eating, and racing as we ventured to all parts of the lake. The afternoon was highlight by our swimming session on the middle of the lake where we jumped off the boats, re-entered them easily in the lake, and then tried to tip a boat, but rather just filled it with water to watch it continue to float! The girls in attendance want to go out again with their whole team!

“The Adventurer arrived quickly and was in the water the same day. The design is great. Not only does it look good on the water, it is easy to paddle, very stable, and tracks and well. The biggest problem I have with it is I can’t keep my wife Jeni out of it. She loves it more than me and believe me that is a lot. I have owned and paddled lots of canoes and kayaks including a couple when I was on the TV show Survivor Thailand and I have never enjoyed one this much. Keep up the good work. “
